Booster FAQs

What is “Booster?”
Booster is a non-synthetic whole food vitamin supplement that has antimicrobial activity. It may be used safe and effectively in all species: dogs, cats, birds, exotic and zoo animals.

What is Booster made of?
Booster is a blend of sustainable red palm fruit oil (Sunshine Factor) and a patented purified monolaurin.

What is monolaurin?
Monolaurin is a combination of lauric acid and glycerol, a combination that results in an emollient that is completely nontoxic and nonirritating.

When should I use Booster?
Booster should be used as directed by your veterinarian; however, it is effective in animals suffering from recurring upper respiratory infections, and in animals or birds with allergies or any microbial disorder, and in animals or birds that have been treated with antibiotics. Also, Booster has been reported to help sick, weak or immune-compromised animals. It also benefits animals with skin disorders and cases of self-mutilation, such as lick granulomas and feather picking.

How do I give Booster?
The dosage for Booster is based on the body weight of the animal. For little critters weighing under a pound, Booster can be liquefied and administered at 0.02-0.06 ml per 100 g body weight. For larger animals, like dogs and cats, it is administered at 1-3 tsp per 50 lb body weight. Most dogs and cats will eat Booster directly from a spoon. If they do not like the taste of Booster, mixing it with their favorite treat usually helps palatability.

How soon after I start using the product can I expect to see results?
The time frame for results varies depending on the animal and the severity of each individual case. Some animals respond and show signs of recovery within a few weeks; however, more severe cases may take several months.

When would I use Booster versus Sunshine Factor?
A good rule of thumb is to use Booster with any animal that has an ailment or skin disorder. If the animal is healthy and only shows evidence of a dull coat or feathers, Sunshine Factor would be the preferred modality.

How long can Booster be safely used?
Booster may be used safely for months or even years, if required. Some animals with a weak immune system may require Booster daily for the rest of their life.

Can I mix Booster in the water?
No. Booster is basically an oil and does not mix well with water. Therefore it should be offered daily by feeding it orally or administering it on the animal’s food or a treat.

What vitamins are in Booster?
Booster is a whole food source of carotenoids (precursors to vitamin A, including both alpha-carotene and beta-carotene). It contains 6 of the 8 forms of vitamin E and provides a rich source of CoQ10.

Do I need to worry about toxicosis when I feed Booster?
No. Because Booster is a whole food vitamin, each animal’s body biochemically “chooses” the missing nutrients and passes what it does not need.

Can I feed Sunshine Factor and Booster at the same time?
No, you would use one or the other. Booster contains Sunshine Factor so adding more is not needed.
